Name your Poison!
The table is from the November 1997 BC Report, which also states that, according to the University of California epidemiology professor, any risk factor below two is essentially meaningless.
| Second-hand Smoke | 1.19 |
| Chlorinated Water | 1.38 |
| One Biscuit a day | 1.49 |
| Two Glasses of Whole Milk daily | 1.62 |
| One Pork Chop a week | 2.12 |
| One Pork Sausage a week | 2.42 |
| Diesel Emissions | 2.60 |
| Keeping Pet Birds | 6.70 |
To allay any fears one might have regarding second-hand smoke and its so-called detrimental on others, we have provided this information. It is especially interesting to find that the keeping of birds is well above the risk factor of two carcinogens. What is next? Will the powers to be, eg: the CRD, ban the keeping of pet birds?
